Our history

From the nobility of the late 19th century to the present day, a history waiting to be discovered

Nestled amongst the green hills that surround Lake Garda, our Country Home is the result of a long-standing passion for the land, tradition and nature.

From Duke Gaetano De Ferrari…

a sumptuous Venetian-style villa

Our story begins in 1873, when Duke Gaetano De Ferrari, a distinguished Genoese financier, purchased Isola del Garda for his beloved wife, Maria De Annenkoff.

On this island, rich in charm and history, he built a majestic Venetian-style villa, surrounded by a lush park and a thriving agricultural estate.

… to the Cavazza family

After the Duke’s death in 1883, the property passed to his daughter Anna Maria, who was married to Prince Scipione Borghese.

After the First World War, the estate was inherited by their daughter Livia who, together with her husband, Count Alessandro Cavazza, gave a decisive boost to its agricultural development.

Under their guidance, the estate was transformed into a modern reality for its time, thanks to the introduction of new farming and breeding methods, becoming a model of innovation in the Garda area.

After the Second World War, with the advent of mechanization, the estate moved to direct management.

In 1970, following the death of Lady Livia, the estate was divided among her three children. Engineer Novello Cavazza inherited the lands of Manerba and Moniga del Garda, continuing an important process of modernization and development, starting from 1999, particularly in olive cultivation.
